Start with a scene
A rainy-day cafe, the aquarium, a missed last train. Pick a scene and a 3D anime character speaks first inside it, in their own voice, like a friend who got there first.
Toonabi is a website where you talk with six 3D anime characters who reply out loud in their own voice, in English or Japanese. It runs in the browser on phones and computers, with nothing to install. They're friends to talk to: about your day, the show you're watching, or nothing much. You can also start from a scene, such as a rainy-day cafe, the aquarium, or a missed last train. Adults who confirm they're 18 or older can have warmer conversations, and nothing here is ever explicit.
Real voice replies, in real time
You type like you always do. Your character answers out loud in their own expressive voice, with no awkward delay.
Anime AI characters with real personality
Koharu, Hana, Itsuki, and Saki are expressive 3D anime characters who talk back, each with their own voice and personality. If you want an AI character chat that actually feels alive, this is it.
No judgment. Real standards.
Vent, joke, ramble. Your character listens without scoring you, and has standards of their own: nothing here ever turns explicit.

Frequently asked questions
- Is there an app where I can talk to anime characters?
- Yes. Toonabi is a website for anime character chat: send a message and a 3D anime character replies out loud in their own voice. Nothing to install; it runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, or a computer.
- Can I talk to a talking cat or dog?
- Yes. Kinako, Itsuki's cat, and Ruby, Keiko's Cavalier, are talking anime pets: they reply in their own voices, but only to you, since their humans don't know they can talk. They're always friends, never a romance.
- How fast can I start?
- Open Toonabi in your browser and start talking to your first anime character in seconds. Nothing to download.
- Is it voice or text chat?
- Both, in the way that feels natural: you type, and your 3D anime character replies out loud in their own voice, with captions if you want them. It feels like a real conversation instead of a wall of text.
- Can beginners use it easily?
- Absolutely. If you've never chatted with an AI character before, just pick a character like Koharu or Hana and say hi. There are no rules to learn and zero judgment.
- How is Toonabi different from other chat apps?
- Most AI chat apps are text only and can feel flat. Toonabi gives you expressive 3D anime characters with real personalities who reply out loud in their own voice, so every chat feels alive.
